Coach & Minibus Hire in Italy

Choosing the Right Vehicle for Your Group

Six vehicle types, each with its own page. Start with the number travelling, then think about bags and where the road leads.

Matching seats to people

Up to eight passengers ride in a car with driver (NCC). From nine to sixteen, a minibus or a Sprinter-style vehicle keeps everyone together; in Italian law both already count as buses. A midibus seats 29 to 35, and a full-size coach 49 to 57. A wheelchair-accessible minibus trades some seats for secured wheelchair spaces.

Bags and narrow roads

Luggage room shrinks when every seat is taken, so a group with big suitcases may need the next size up. Length matters as well: some coast and lake roads bar long vehicles, which is where a minibus comes into its own.

What travellers ask us

Are there seat belts on board?

Wherever they are fitted, passengers over three keep them fastened while seated, and a sign at each seat reminds them.

What licence does the driver hold?

A category D1 or D licence for minibuses and coaches, plus the CQC driver qualification card. Drivers of NCC cars hold a professional certificate on top of their licence.

How fast can a bus travel on the motorway?

Buses over 8 t may drive at up to 100 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on other roads outside towns, so long transfers take longer than by car.
